Zamfara NLC Elects New Leaders

New leaders to run the affairs of Zamfara state Chapter of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) have been elected.
The election which was held during their 7th Quadrennial State Delegates Conference 2023, at Labour Office in Gusau where the new leaders were elected after the dissolution of former leaders, and new leaders will now run the affairs of the chapter for the next four years.
Those elected are, Comrade Sani Haliru as the Chairman who scored 24 votes against his opponent Babangida Zurmi who scored zero vote.
Sanusi Isah and Abubakar Abdullahi as vice chairman one and two, as they are unopposed, while the seat of the treasurer goes to Maikano Sani Maru with 22 votes against Shehu Sani Doki who scored one vote.
Others are Abdul Nasir Dabai who won the seat of Auditor one with 22 votes and Sani Abubakar as Auditor two with 21, while the office of Ex-offio one and two goes to Fatima Habibu and Kulu Garba unopposed.
Speaking shortly after announcing the result, the National Officer who supervised the election, Comrade Kabiru Yahayya said the conduct of the exercise is transparent, and warn the elected officers to work hard as a team and move the chapter forward.
In his acceptance speech the new Chairman of the chapter comrade Sani Haliru promised to take the issue of minimum wage, Contributory Health Scheme of state workers and pension scheme.
He said they are much aware of the workers challenge in the state and the new set of leadership is determining to change the status core.
He called on members to support and advised the leaders where necessary to enable the leadership successful.
