Bilbis Challenges INEC For Refusing To Declare Him Winner Of Zamfara Central Senatorial Seat

The Zamfara central senatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Hon, Ikira Aliyu Bilbis, has today challenged the state Independant National Electoral Commission for refusing to declare him on his victory in the last Zamfara Central senatorial election held on 25/2/2023.
Ikira Aliyu Bilbis stated this at a press conference held at the Dauda Lawan Dare Party Office in Gusau, the state capital.
The senatorial candidate stated that the Zamfara State INEC Commissioner, Prof. Ahmad Galadima was sent to the state to conduct free and fair elaction of both President and National Assembly.
According to him, all the reaults of every zone have been announced, but only Zamfara Central Senatorial Election, has not been announced for a reason best known to him.
Bilbis added that the state INEC commissioner has no right to refuse to declare the winner of Zamfara Central Elections of Senate and House Of Representative elections.
"Base on information available to us, I Ikira Aliyu Bilbis, I got 93,120 votes, my opponent, from APC senator Kabiru Marafa, got 79,144 votes, which confirmed that I won the election, but because of a their hidden agenda in the election, Professor Ahmad Galadima refused to announce the result
"Saying that the result would not be announced due to some pending issues at some polling units in Gusau and Tsafe local government.
"But thank God that my lawyer has written a petition to the National Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission to claim my victory in the Zamfara Central Senatorial Election," said Bilbis.
Bilbis also expressed his gratitude to the people of Zamfara Central who came enmass ane vote for him during the election, saying is a merit of electing him to represent them in the National Assembly in the last election.
He however called on the people of Zamfara State not to be afraid, or refuse to come out in the gubernatorial election on Saturday for the election of PDP, gubernotorial candidate Dr Dauda Lawan Dare, and members of state House Of Assembly.
