Supreme Court Affirms Zubairu APC Candidate For Maru/Bungudu Fed, Constituency

The Supreme Court sitting in Abuja has upheld the judgement of the Appeal Court Sokoto which affirmed Hon. Abdulmalik Zubairu Zannan Bungudu as the All Progressives Congress Candidate for Bungudu/Maru Federal Constituency in zamfara state.

Delivering judgement today, the two man panel of judges,lead by Justice Tijjani Abubakar said the Court has dismissed the appeal instituted by  Hon. Abdul Rahman Muhammad Tumbido.

Hon.Tumbido had earlier challenged the judgement passed by the Court of Appeal sitting in sokoto over victory of Hon. Abdulmalik Zubairu's primary election conducted for Maru/Bungudu seat under APC in the state.

Recalled that the appellant Hon. Abdul Rahman Muhammad Tumbido has approached the apex court challenging the judgement of the appelate court passed in early December 2022 in Sokoto.

Shading more light on the judgement, Counsel to the defendant Barrister P M Lasco said the development has proven beyond reasonable doubt  the judgement passed by both the Federal High Court Gusau and Court of Appeal Sokoto Division on the matter.

On his part, Counsel to the co-defendants Hon. Nasiru Bello Lawal and Hon. Yusuf Alhassan Kanoma, Barrister Auwal Ahmad Nahuce said  though a lawyer can not predict outcome of a suit but what transpired at the Apex Court was what everybody expected.

He said the case has reflected the principle that says one can not put something on top of nothing and expect it to stand.

Commenting on the judgement the defendant Hon. Abdulmalik Zubairu Zannan Bungudu described it as a true dispensation of justice.

He thanked the Stakeholders and constituents for their prayers and good will.

Guber Election:- Zamfara NSCDC Deploys Adequate Personnel, Cautions Them To Be Neutral

By Aminu Abdullahi Gusau The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Zamfara State Command has deployed adequate number of it's personnel for the forthcoming Gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections in Zamfara State. Commandant Muhammad Bello Muazu, the state commandant of the Corps stated this while addressing the combat ready officers and men in the state command headquarters Gusau.  This was contained in a statement signed by the commands spokesman, Mr Ikor Oche SC and made available to newsmen in Gusau. Guber Election:- Zamfara PDP Will Not Accept Results If Bvas Are Not Use

By Aminu Abdullahi Gusau Barely three days to gubernotorial elections in Nigeria, The Zamfara state chapter of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has insisted that Bimodal voter accreditation system Bvas  must be used during the accreditation of voters, other wise it will not accept any results that Bvas are not used. The publicity secretary of state PDP gubernotorial candidate in the next coming election Faruk Shatiman Rijiya made the declaration today in Gusau, while briefing newsmen on their stands.
