NDIC Promises Depositors, General Public, Safety Of Their Money

The Nigeria deposit insurance corporation (NDIC) has assured all the depositors  and the general public that the corporation will leave no stone unturned in its commitment to effectively discharge their mandate.


The managing Director Of the cooperation Mr, Bello Hassan gave  the assurance  during the NDIC special day at 44 Kaduna international trade fair ccomplex recently in Kaduna.


  According to him,  the corporation protect depositors in four differences ways; by guaranteeing deposits in banks, by supervising the banks in conjunction with the central bank of Nigeria, to ensure they runs in efficient manner in line with extant laws and regulations, and by resolving issues of distressed banks in order to prevent disruption to payment system.


  "The this year's trade fair theme; tagged as  "promoting value additional for sustainable growth and development"it's instructive to more the strong nexus between the mandate and the theme, by discharging the public policy objectives of protecting depositors in the event of bank failure and offer a measure of safety for the banking system generally."


"We also create an enabling environment for the financial system to support that the small and medium enterprises (SME) sub sector of economy and promote sustainable growth and development through an efficient payment system. He added.


He however called on the depositors ,creditors and stake holders of the closed banks to avail themselves of the verification platforms provided by the corporation to claim their funds.
