Governor Matawalle Swears In 4 New High Court Judges, 9 Special Advisers

Governor Bello Mohammed Matawallen Maradun of Zamfara State has today Swore-in four new High Court Judges and nine new Special Advisers in the state.
The newly Sworn-in High Court Judges include Abdullahi Muhammad Gusau, Esq, Umar Abdulnasir, Esq, Sa'ad Garba Gurbin Bore Esq and Muntaka Ahmed Ya'akub.
The Special Advisers are Sahabi Ahmad Mada, Shehu Garba Bungudu, Engr Nura Makwashi Maradun, Hon Sani Galadi, Hon Kabiru S.Aski Gummi, Hon Lawal Marafa, Hon Dandare Dandakko, Hon Babangida Abdullahi, and Hon Ahmed Abubakar.
Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony held at the Council Chambers, Government House, Gusau, Governor Bello Matawalle informed the new High Court Judges that their appointments were based on the recommendations of the National Judicial Council as well as their unwavering commitment to the rule of law, track record of hard work, and qualifications for the prestigious position.
The Governor explained that in a democratic setting, judiciary is an essential branch of government that acts as checks and balances in order to ensure that justice is served.
He however called on the New High Court Judges to take crucial decisions that will impact the lives of the people.
According to him, one of the key responsibilities of the judiciary is to uphold the rule of law, ensure that the rights of all citizens are protected and implored them to play a critical role in upholding the constitution while protecting the rights of all citizens regardless of their status or background.
He therefore expressed his administration's commitment to support the new Judges in their endeavours and ensure that the judiciary in Zamfara State continues to deliver justice efficiently and fairly.
On the part of the newly Sworn-in Special Advisers, the Governor said their appointments were the routine of injecting the public service with fresh and capable hands to assist in effective service delivery.
The Matawallen Maradun informed the Special Advisers that they have the trust of the government and the goodwill of the general public.
He called them to live by their oath of office and ensure equity and fair play in the discharge of their responsibilities, and assured his administration's determination to continue supporting the appointees to confront their operational challenges for effective service delivery.
The Governor assured people of Zamfara State that his administration will not relent in its commitment and determination to achieve lasting peace and promote the well-being of the people, pointing out that the state government is determined to ensure peaceful conduct of the 2023 general elections and rancour free political activities in all parts of the state.
He also called on the people to continue to pray for peace and prosperity in the state.
